Primary Blessings

It doesn't matter if you're a Hillary fanatic or an Obamaniac, you can feel great about the past month for two reasons.

1. No matter who wins, our candidates are both great and blow the other side's guys out of the water. Democrats have consistently been able to choose who they liked best, while Republicans have been forced to consider who they disliked least.

2. Turnout. In primary after primary, Democratic turnout has eclipsed Republican turnout, often by record margins. Democrats are fired up, while Republicans are demoralized. That energy and enthusiasm is priceless, and it's not just born out of anger at George Bush's travesty of a presidency. More than anything else, it's coming from an excitement that positive, history-making change is achievable, and it's just around the corner.

No matter who ends up being the eventual Democratic nominee, the key is to keep that energy coming and keep the eye on the goal - putting one of these two great candidates into the White House, and forging a new and progressive path. This election is already historic. It's our job to keep writing that history in our favor - from now until November, and beyond.
